Top Award for Coach Steve
Steve Kiernan has been awarded runner up in the Yonex Young Volunteer of the Year.
The 23 year old was presented the award at the National Indoor Arena in Birmingham during the All England Badminton
Finals.
Kiernan, along with Alan Wong set up the badminton academy just over a year ago giving most of their free time
to bring quality structured badminton sessions into the community.
At present the academy hold sessions in the Solihull area.
Badminton has been a part of Kiernan's life for the past 13 years, playing for Warwickshire County and playing
in countries such as Denmark, Belgium and Malta. He has been enjoying coaching for the past eight years teaching
in schools, holiday activity camps and running his own sessions.
